The application for Canada’s federal self-employed program can now be submitted online.
Previously, applicants were required to print the entire application and mail it into the immigration center in Nova Scotia but this is no longer necessary.
As of a few months ago, you can now submit your application and documents online. This applies to the federal and Quebec self-employed program categories.
What is the Federal Self-employed Program?
The federal self-employed program is a Canadian immigration program for persons who have been self-employed in artistic or cultural activities for at least two years in the last five years.

How to Submit Federal Self-employed Application Online
To submit your application online, head over to the application portal HERE. The page lists all the programs that can submit applications online.
Create an Account
Click the link for the Permanent residence online application portal. You will be prompted to log in or create a new account.
Start Application
Once you create an account, log in, scroll to the bottom and start a new application.
It’s pretty straightforward from there. To make it easier, print out the application checklist so you can make sure you complete all the forms.
Some of the forms may need to be printed for signature but you can scan and upload them back on the application portal.
All the forms and instruction guides related to the federal self-employed program can be found on IRCC website.
You can still submit your application the traditional way via post but not sure why anyone would want to.
Submitting the application online is faster and cheaper and you don’t have to print hundreds of pages of information to send to the immigration center.
